Environment is Oracle Ebusiness suite 12.1.2 ; multi node; 2 node rac. Database is on Linux and Application tiers are also on Linux.
Application servers were on physcial servers. Since physical servers were getting out of support, management decided to move to virtualize the app servers (both for cost savings and supportability (of OS and machines)).
Our appl top was shared and on NAS. New virtual servers were built and during cutover, the old physical servers were brought down and virtual servers were re-ip'ed to have the same host name and ip address as the old physical servers. Since the storage was on NAS, the apps volumes were exported on the new virtual servers. No autoconfig was run. We relinked the 10.1.2, 10.1.3 ORACLE HOMES and ran adadmin for all apps executables.
Apps are up and running on virtual servers now. Performance seems to be fine.
